1 96S 08KY WOW OSKY WOW 65 SENIORS............. 3 UNDERCLASSMEN 50 FALL............... 92 WINTER.............140 SPRING.............160 ADVERTISEMENTS 182 INDEX..............199 CLASS OF 1965 • • • Time passes quickly and with it come and go new and old faces in the ranks of Jackson High School. In early fall, the Class of 1965 began its many duties as the leader of the underclassmen. Every member of the class has his own memories which will remain with him for years to come. For the boys who participated in athletics, the roar of the fans will echo in their ears. Girls will recall hasty preparations for dances and the Jr.-Sr. Prom. Most of all, each will relive that proud sensation of representing Jack-son High School academically, socially, or in sports. By popular vote, pink and white were chosen as class colors and a pink rose as the flower. The class made a fitting selection in choosing the song TODAY as their song. The feelings of every member of the class are expressed in the lines: A million tomorrows shall all pass away; E'er I forget all the joys that were mine today. Yes, Now is the Hour. The Class of 1965 finds itself standing before an open door leading to an adult world. Behind lie majestic memories; ahead we know not what. But................................... Attention Senior Class: Be prepared for the arrival of 280 strong, energetic, able-bodied Juniors. We, the Junior Class, have almost reached our utmost goal in high school--our final year at J.H.S. We have slowly climbed the long ladder until now we can share all the privileges of the upperclassmen. This year, our activities have ranged from participating in athletics to the selecting of queens. Under the wise leadership and guidance of our officers, the Junior Class will be prepared to meet the challenges of the Senior year. 50 D. Auxier B. Arthur J. Addis L. Adair G. Abraham C. Bachtel P. CIRCULATION, BUSINESS, 8c FEATURE STAFFS 127 In the early days of the Massachusetts colony, a plague broke out in the little town of Salem. Oddly enough, those who suffered from the sickness were not the ones who died of it. The sufferers claimed that witches working for Satan were to blame for crops that failed, livestock that died, and children who fell ill. They pointed out the witches to the local authorities, and by a not-so-strange coincidence, these witches turned out to be neighbors with whom they had differed. So great was the public eagerness to believe these wild accusations that a good percentage of the men, women, and children of Salem were arrested, tried, and found guilty of witchcraft on no more evidence than an accuser's say-so. Before reason returned to Salem, 20 innocent people had been hanged as witches. 128 GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Officers: Mary Taylor, Beverly Hunter, Mrs. Ellenberger, Sandra Woolet, Mary Lou Menshousc. Members participate in interscholastic competition in the fields of debate, orations, declamations, dramatics, and extemporaneous speaking. We are proud of our Forensic League, as many of the members have placed in a number of tournaments this year. The Forensic League is an active club under Mr. Robert Santo's leadership. It tells of Eliza, a lonely flower girl, who has no chance to climb in the world until she meets Henry Higgins. Higgins transforms Eliza into a lady with impeccable speech and refined manners. The tale of her deception forms the plot for the play and transfers the audience into a days gone by fairy land. 160 9PRING PLAY On the Street Where You Live Get Me to the Church on Time 161 SADIE HAWKINS Floyd Rose, King being crowned by John Bowman, Ex-King. 1965 Hodkwmjfj $ze Tickets tytHcfa 162 SCIENCE CLUB L. to R.—S.
