Trainmaster i MR. MELBRA THORNTON. TRAINMASTER Mr. Melbra Thornton. Principal of Jackson High School, has charge of directing the movements of the faculty and student body. There is no man with as many worries as the principal, the trainmaster. Mr. Thornton graduated from Cadmus High School in Gallia County. He received his A. B. from Rio Grande College. Later, in 1933. he received his M A. from Ohio State University. He has proved himself a great educator and friend of the students. Carol Jean Johnson, who is Mr. Thornton's secretary, types tests, and plans schedules throughout the school year and summer. She always has a pleasant smile and greeting when you enter the office. 7

Dispatcher MR. DAUGHERTY. DISPATCHER Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Kermit Daugherty, is an important cog in the workings of all the education trains in the city of Jackson. Without his direction there would be many mix-ups in the education system. A native of Jackson County, he earned his A. B. at Rio Grande College and his M. A. at Ohio State University. He has completed additional work at Kent State University and at Ohio University. His broad experience and training make him a fine administrator. Anna Nail, who is Mr. Daugherty's secretary, is a very important part of the school office. She does her job very effectively.
