Text from Pages 1 - 60 of the 1962 volume:

FOREWORD ACROSS THE HILLS OF MEMORY Across the hills of memory Back o'er the roads of time; Our hearts are ever longing Those hills again to climb. Back to those scenes we can't forget Faces sweet and fair; Friends that seem to long for us Are always waiting there. Sweet memory-rare gift of God Its fragrance fills the soul; Like the early breath of springtime The summer to unfold. Though time and space, and strange events Will place us far apart; We cross the hills of memory still Each day within our hearts. -Charles O. Carnes- As you grow older, day by day and year by year, you will remember different events that happened during your school years at J. H, S. We hope that this edition of the JACKSONIAN will help you to cross those hills of memory and to recapture, in picture and words, the happy, and the sad, times that you shared with your classmates, friends, and teachers. And now . . . THE JACKSONIAN of 1962 ’ the EDITOR With our sincere appreciation for all the help you have given us through the - ears, we, the senior class of 1962, dedicate the Jacksonian 1962 to you, Miss Emma Sherman. The principles and ideals that you taught us have been an in- spiration and help through our high school years and will continue to assist us through our entire lives.
