Senlor Class Prophecy school days are over It IS now summertume, the hot month of August to be exact Smce I had never had a real vacatuon I thought now would be a wonderful tume for one I always wanted to travel and see saghts I had never seen before Smce I had never seen Washmgton, I decided to go there I called the Pan American An- Lmeg to see when a plane was leavung As at was gomg the next day I really had a lot of thmgs to get together I bought a new hat and thlngs I would need for my trap I arrnved nn Washmgton about 2 O0 p m the next day Fmdmg a room at the hotel I un packed my clothes and rang for the bell boy When he came I couldn t belleve my eyes be cause there stood Eddie Kline an old schoolmcte of mme He came ID and we talked over old tnmes for awhule He told me he was engaged but was not thmkmg of marrnage as yet He dndn tstay too long as he was on duty Fmdmg lt was dnnner tume I went to the hotel dumng room M I wanted for a wautress to come to take my order Mary I.ou Foltz lLeatherman and Phll, who were luvmg an Washlngton came In Smce ut was Saturday evemng they dined out for dinner We ate together and talked for awhlle She told me about her two darlnng chuldren and how happy they all were The next day I started to see the C ty As I always had wanted to see the Whute House and Capntol Bunldmg I called a cab whlch arrnved shortly You ll never guess who was drlv :ng That s rnght Allen Myers We talked all the way to the Whnte House He Katne and thenr llttle gurl had only laved ID Washmgton for a few months As we pulled nn the druve I told hum how mce lt was to see hum again and vuce versa Then he was gone As I walked up the long walk to the door of the Whute House the President s maud came to show me seemed my trnp was really a success because who was the mald? Senuor Class Hustory On September 8 1941 fifteen luttle whute faced kuds entered the Jackson Halls of Know ledge Adventurung through the halls they found theur way unto the furst grade room where Mrs Dahms was wautung patuently to begun her thurd year of unstructung luttle cherubs such as we After we were all seated she found Eddue Kline Joan Dushong Buddykeynolds Alma Adams Anna Belle Morrus Lorraune Dushong Chloetta McMaster Avery Evunger Ruchard Mumy Mary Loree Wulhelm Gene Noykos Sally Scheerer Chrustuna Smuth Allen Meyers and Gerald Straw facung her ln the second grade our class was honored to have Bull Courtney Charles Koch Harold Rader and Vurgunua Payne enter our class Our class grew even larger later Ted Knught Pat Moor and Charles Kundle came to our class although we lost one Vurgunua Payne Durung the fourth and fufth grades Pat Meeker and Jummy Snyder entered our school Vurgunua Payne came back to loun us also The suxth seventh and eughth grades showed our en rollment changung agaun Jack Herringshaw Patty Baer Betty Cluck and Ralph Stott came to enter our class Thus year four more students came to loun us Mary Lou Foltz Jum Neulung and two preachers kuds Mary Lynne Harrus and Jack Shuck Feelung the honor of becomung Sophomore s and Junuor s we began to save money for our Senuor trup although we dudn t save much money we fe0llY had a lot of fun Our Junuor and Senuor Banquet was on May 5 Our theme was Mexuco of whuch we dec orated the gym Our mothers cooked the meal and then we enloyed a short program later we proceeded to the show un Fundlay where we saw Sungung un the Ram l know everyone had a wonderful tume ln our Junuor year we lost three of our students Sally Scheerer Chloetta Mcfufnster and Lorraine Dushong We all are sorry they couldn t be wuth us through our Senuor year Senuorsl Yes we funally hut the row by the wundows Thus was a wonderful experuence hav ung so much responsubuluty puttung out the Keystone and the Breeze and guvung our Senuor Play Happy Daze Our Senuor sponsor M's Frost gave us ambutuon to really want to do somethung We are now lookung forward to our Senuor trup and a wonderful tumel 15 U U . . . ,, I I - un . . . . Thanknng of what to do next, I decrded to do some shoppnng Upon walkmg unto one of the more exclusrve dress shops I asked to have a dress modeled The grrl who modeled the dress was cute slender and I knew her as Alma Adams Emerrck Thus was really somethungl My best fnend In schooll I was really glad to see her She wasn t llvung an Washnngton, gust vacatronnng there wrth her husband Terry Emerrck and had declded to make a few dollars on the sude by modelmg Srnce I was an old frrend she got the rest of the day off We really had a great tnmel She sand she was lrvung rn St Petersburg Floruda, and was very happrly marrued That mght the three of us went to a mght club where they were featurmg none other than Jack Shuck busnly pantomrmng records It was really great to see hum agarn He and his wlfe Joan Hennungs Shuck, were makung a tour over the states to drfferent mght clubs Feellng very tlred and worn l made my way back to the hotel The next day I thought ut would be even more excltmg because there strll was so much to see After a good mght s sleep and breakfast rn the mornrng I dressed and was ready for the day A few hours later l found myself at the Grave of the Unknown Soldiers where much to my surpruse I found Jum Nerlrng and Harold Rader standmg at attentron for those who gave theor lrfe for our country It really dud something to me Although I drdn t get to talk wlth them they recogmzed me and l was glad of that On my way back to the hotel I ran unto another one of my school frrends Avery Evmger I was really surprnsed to see hum, especrally nn Wasl'-mgton I thought he would have been marrued to Mary Lou Kern by now, but thnngs drdn t go gust rnght So we had dmner together and went to the Metropolitan Opera House where we saw beautuful Pat Moor DeVor ur sung mg Madame Butterfly After enloyrng a marvelous performance we went to talk wnth her She and .lum were tourrng all over the world I returned to the hotel early as I was to catch the mormng plane As I boarded the Pan Amerrcan, you ll never guess who shared my seat wnth mel You re so rrght Mrs Chrrstma Smlth IShunewI She was lust returmng from Cuba where she was vnssnng her husband Tom lt was real mce to see her agaun we talked over old tnmes and had our lunch together The plone arrnved nn Toledo at 4 O0 that same day, where I dnd some shoppmg before gomg back to Hoytvrlle As l walked unto Tedtke s Department Store there I found Joan Drshong sellmg records l stopped at her counter bought a record and talked awhnle was on the bus to Hoytvnlle, I decided my trlp was really successful after seetng all y schoolmates I never found out untnl later why l found most of them nn Washmgton lt was because of the wonderful Sensor trnp they all took upon whuch I wasn table to go Lynne Harrrs I IIIIIMM , . , .
