High school was different, but interesting. There were science projects, maps, sentence diagrams, and gym suits. The time passed quickly, and soon. . . We were attending our first Sweet Sixteen Parties. We felt grown now. In our sophomore year we welcomed Mr. Barbaree as our new principal; no longer did we share our building with the elementary school. That year we were included in the New Year's Eve Party, but it was postponed...because... Those Wonderful Southernaires provided music for a Iunior-Senior Prom which... WE SHALL NEVER FORGET... The Lead-out, the decorations, and the laughter all made Club 65 a night to truly remember. . ..And now. ..We are Seniors! How could we ever forget. . . Get-togethers after the games... Fussing over front Athletic Events... Our unprecedented seats in chapel... record of magazine sales. And our year has been rewarding scholastically. Study and preparation have made us more mature... ...so that now we look to the world of the future with a deep appreciation for our MEMORIES OF YESTERYEARS. I251

The introduction to our first big world started in 1953 on a bright September morning. There are parts of these memorable moments which will ever be foremost in our remembrances: The playhouse in the back of the first-grade room; the paper on which we first learned to print; and the boys chasing the girls until they screamed. . . The Halloween Party was our first. .. But soon we were entering more activities; as we became third and fourth graders we joined Cub Scouts. . . Chapel programs were important to us our 5th year. How could we ever forget the one entitled, Columbus Discovered America. '7. . . We became Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts . . ...We left elementary school enthusiastic but somewhat tn the SlXth Grade... frightened at our next big step.
