The squad usually travels to the cinder gatherings held at Beatrice and Crete, plus the Greater Lincoln League, state, and the traditional dual meets. This year Jacksons hall of fame was increased by one when George Knight, sophomore, mustered all his forces and hurled the javelin 171 feet, 9 inches shattering a moss covered state mark. This throw exceeded any ol his former tries by more tthan twenty feet. Another ti. L. I.. crown ltr uthley Taylor Souders Smith ' was bestowed upon jackson by virtue of the track squad. The jackson high tennis team took to the clay courts in the latter part of April and in short order made their names an every day expression in state raquet wielding circles. Taylor and Souders ascended the state prep doubles throne May 11 after a typhoon-like attack on the best tennis combinations of Nebraska. This was the second championship of its kind during Coach lieechnens regime. Not to belittle the remainder of the net squad and the golfers. all of whom qualified and shone in the state meet.
