J . FLOWER GF VENEZIA . THE FLOWER OF VENEZIA By Dundas and Hansen The light opera, The Flower of Venezia, was successfully given April 5 and 6 under the direction of Marjorie M. Miller. But through the plots of the family assassins, she was saved, and the Duke married her sister instead. Principals in the cast were: James Anderson, Evelyn Brown, Grace Payne, Neil Davis, Harry Pit- caithley, George Grassmueck, Pauline Bowan, Helen Fitch, Pauline Rasmussen, Gertrude Clifton, Walter Harrold, Stanley Bimson, Jean Wolf, Dick Ryan, Jardin Thompson, and Ralph Currier. THE FAMILY UPSTAIRS By Harry Delf The Family Upstairs was given by the Dramatics Department on December 7. It is a comedy of middle-class American life in which the love of a young stenographer and her first boy friend reaches its rightful climax in spite of a mother's meddling. Those in the cast were: Virginia Clemans, Edmund Steeves, Neil Davis, Florence Bridges, Bayard Taylor, Grace Payne, Dorothy Knight and Velora Roberts. BELIEVE ME XANTIPPE By Fred Bullard The amusing four-act farce was admirably presented by the seniors on May 25. McFarland wagers 8,330,000 with two friends that he can commit a crime and elude the authorities for a year. His habit of exelaiming Believe me Xantippen in unthinking moments, led to his capture by a sheriff's daughter, but in the end he won the bet and the daughter.
