LADY COUGARS Beginning the year with high hopes the Lady Cougars faced many obstacles as the 78- 79 season advanced. As summer practice began Coach Calvin Bailey assumed the task of rebuilding a team due to significant losses of 1978 graduates. Bonita Lyles Jackie King Jackie Mays Audrey Hunt Vicki Burton and Beverly McCallister were called on to provide the sparks needed to ignite the team. Sophomores became the mainstay of the unit as other players were lost to injuries. Meeting fierce competition, the boys played with determination and dedication to produce several key come from behind victories. Senior Greg Glenn performed well throughout the season and consistently scored in double figures. Mike Martindale was again impressive and other seniors Deric Estes, James Tate, Maurice Savage, Terry Davis, David Murphy and Darrell Dixson provided assistance. Head Coach W. P. Greene
