Rewarding Excellence J Desired by many students but achieved by few was membership in JC-M's chapter of the National Honor Society. Ninety-eight members of the Class of '78 were rewarded for their academic excellence and recognized as pos- sessing the qualities of character, leadership, and service. Formal candlelight initiation ceremonies were held during the first semes- ter. These students were also eas- ily found among the crowd at graduation exercises as they proudly wore the symbolic gold tassel. Society advisors were Mrs. Sharon Barlow and Mrs. Wanda Taylor.
