BASEB LL The l978 Baseball Team started off tough pre-season practices indoors due to the bad weather. Led by Coach Rusty Taylor, the team worked hard batting, run- ning, and pitching as they looked forward to a suc- cessful though difficult sea- son. Cited as top players were seniors Craig Faulkner and Bill Young, andjuniors Jeff Fleming and Ronnie Giddens, all returnees from the '77 unit. Competing in both track and field events these ath- letes showed their skills and came out on top more often than not. Strength, endur- ance, and speed were increased as the season progressed and the team demonstrated its willingness and ability to meet fierce opposition. Outstanding in Track were Elizabeth Shep- herd and Lonnie Key.
