SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Time -- 1959. Place-- Jackson Center I'm the guy they call Father Time. I've been having a hard time keeping up with those 1949 seniors. It seems they are scattered to the far corners of the earth. But still close to Jackson is the young man named Frank Latendress Lyle Millard Barker. I-Ie's still hanging on to his name. Besides he has made quite a name for himself in the farming world. Right now he's sitting on his front porch with his dog at his feet, pushing buttons to run those three tractors he now owns. His little wife, Frances Colleen Slusher, kept her promise to so- ciety and is the typical farmer's wife she always hoped to be. She also made some of Mrs. Darrow's dreams come true. From September until the last of May, she occupies the position as primary teacher at Jackson Center School. John Hoover liked Washington D. C. so much that he decided to return there to live. He is the President's confidential commedian. It certainly is a wonder- ful job for John. Right here, I think, that we should pay our due respects to the president. He was such a good class president for three years that the forty- niners decided to make him master of the land. Nice going President Beavans. Not so far away we see a young lady in white keeping an eye peeled for a good looking intern. People now call this young lady, Nurse Maddox. She is still keeping house with Donna Buckland. They won't tell us who the lucky one is going to be. Jacqueline Stroup's dreams of going to Switzerland came true only it isn't a permanent residence. She travels on an ocean liner as a dietition. She told me the other day that she ran into Bill Myers on one of her stops in England. Bill is in competition with the King's jester. Donna Booher crashed Hollywood with her beautiful legs. Betty Grable takes a back seat now days. Joan Barnes is also among the top performers. She is doing a wonderful job as a ballet dancer. Normagene Murray, who became a student at Ball State Teachers College was graduated cum laude in 1953. She is now principal of Central High School in South Bend. Do not be surprised if one day she is president of the N.E.A. Bud Lee is still riding around on his brother's motorcycle. I guess it starts a little easier than it did back in '49. Doris Lawrence is still typing away at her secretarial position at Fort Wayne with a large business concern. O Q9 s 1 ' 'S x ,Q- XX ' , ' Q 9 ' ' t r - U . N 'J' L 5 3 hw - sr' :-. en v- 2,2 . f f .
