Phaddt, and Mrs. Ludwig. Roddy Rose and Mary Lou Young were king and queen of the May Day Play. Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. High helped us on our second plateau. Our group was still so large that it had to be divided again. It seems that this was the year that Joyce Elliott' pulled the monkey off the light cord. On our third plateau, as we didn't know too much yet about space travel, we pulled the wrong lever which produced daily paddlings. The paddle was controlled by Mrs. Sutton, but some seemed to escape by way of Mrs. Scarberry. On our fourth plateau, we lost one of our favorite classmates, Timothy Herdon, because of illness. Mrs. Stahler, our instructor, had lively travel companions. It seems there was a certain ordeal about fingernail polish. What about this Roddy and Mary Ruth? On this plateau, Mary Ruth got to be an expert on tying strings, since she tied Robert Counts to his seat quite often. Mrs. Heintz was our instructor on the fifth plateau. Our favorite pastime this year seemed to be playing ring up. On our sixth plateau, Mrs. McGowan was our instructor. Miss Heater helped us to learn to play flutophones. At our Valentine party, we presented Mrs. McGowan with a leather book satchel, which she still carries. At the end of our sixth year, we took inventory of the students in our class, and found that we had lost 33 during the lst six grades. We gained 20 in this time. In 1953, as we entered the seventh grade, we were 38 in number. We were helped along in this plateau by Mrs. Forsythe. The eighth grade initiated us at a Halloween party given in our honor. Kay Wildermuth was a cheerleader and the boys in our class that helped to win the county tournament were Roddy Rose, Claude Heintz, Jim Maxwell, and Ronald Shoffner. In this class Harold Baker and Barbara Myers joined us in our travels but both left us again along with Vera Bevans, Vivian Bevans , and Karen Dearbaugh. Now we must plan our path ahead, Guiding us to lead and not be led. Clothed in robes of scarlet deep, Memories of Jackson High we shall keep. Our caps are set, our victory won, But we as graduates have not yet begun. As we remember these past twelve years, Classmates, let us seek our chosen careers, Our friends and teachers will not be forgot, For much we have learned and much they hav Leaving our friends and school behind, Memories of happiness we shall find We shall remember you, Alma Mater, and say Where There's a Will, There's a Way. Written by, Ann Jackson and Mary Lou Young Class Song The time has come, we must go on now And leave behind our high school days. We now depart, but within our hearts Will always be sweet memories. The teachers and friends always helped us To learn the things we really must. Ways we've trod with comrades here, As we leave are now coming to an end. Dear Jackson High we'll always love you Now is the time to say good bye. We'll cherish as our fondest memories The days we've spent within your walls. As we shall depart and go life's ways, We shall dream on of High School days. And as we hear that last bell, Dear High Sc We bid you all farewell. I Written by, Mary Miars Mary R.
