61444 poem Tonight We Sail, Where Shall We Anchorl The time has come for us to part, And sail out on our ways, But we shall never forget in our hearts, Our twelve years of happy schooldays. Yes, here we are, at the end, on the shore, Considering our motto so true, Tonight We Sail, Where Shall We Anchorl And looking out into the blue. And here we wonder, cs we stand on the post, How far does our destiny lie, Where is this lsland of Success Which we hope to reach by and by? Our dear old colors of blue and white, As they stand out from the mast, Will help to guide us on our way, With our knowledge and experience of the past Then we step into our ship of Courage, With our flag of Knowledge waving high, As we cling to our diploma's, We turn to wave and say good-by. But when we turn to do this task, There faces us our past 'twelve years, With all our parents, teachers, and classmates, All our hardships, toils and fears. And as we look back into these happy scenes, We can hardly hold our tears, To think that all of us twenty-seven seniors, Hove cherished together these years. Our last few words we wish to say, N our ship moves away from land, Are 'Thanks to ou, dear teachers and arents, Y P Making possible a trip well planned. Our class as a whole, will miss all of you, For we love our dear Jackson High And for now we want to say---So-Long, But never, never---Good-By. So bid us farewell m we move out in life, As you in turn must have taken, For we are not out at sea, by ourselves all alone, But together, the world to awaken. Twyla Regula I3

ptopheciu let's imagine that it is ten years from tonight. The senior class of '56 is having a ban- quet at the Jackson Center High School. The main topic of conversation at this table is about the rocket to the moon that Bob Grubbs and Bill Hutflies is working on. Bill is also very busy with his duties of chaplain of the lJnited States Senate. They tell me that Jim Brown has started from the bottom and worked himself up to president of the Goodyear Tire Corporation. James Buchanan is now designing Thunderbird motors for the Ford Organization. Dick Protsman is now the owner and manager of the Protsman Homestead. Lynn Sailor, who is president of the Sailor Greenhouse Corporation, has iust been elected mayor of Jackson Center. Donald Howell has been kept very busy with his clock industry at Jackson Center. Catherine Kossel is now very happy living on her cattle ranch in Montana. Mary Sherer has just been advanced to the position of head seamstress for Air Stream Trailers. Carol Seitz is kept very busy advertising Pontiac cars on television. Ed Shady is now engaged in missionary work in India. Jerry Lochard now holds the important position of Governor of Ohio. Jack Tidd is now president of the Hot Rod Association of Ohio. Larry Steenrod has obtained the position of president of the National Y F A Organi- zation. Rose Hagedorn is now the personal secretary to the president of the Ford Corporation. Jean Snider, Patty Hammye, and Delores Russel have completed their nurses training. Jean is now head nurse of the Gutman Hosptial, but Pat, who is head nurse ofthe Jaclcon Center Hospital, is giving her some competition. Delores has spent the last two years as nurse at the American EmbC1SSy in Paris. Janet Leininger has become editor of the New York Times because of her experience from working on the school paper. Howard Oglesbee has been kept very busy in Hollywood as an understudy for Tony Curtis Twyla Regula is now the postmistress of the Jackson Center Post Office. Carolyn Helmlinger has now taken on a permanent iob of baby sitting. Darrel Symonds is now the Hot Rod Champion of Ohio. Nancy Heintz is enioying teaching on an Indian reservation. Dick Miller's and Dave Detrick's D and D basketball team is doing quite well this year. ln fact, it is predicted that they will be the international champions this year. David Smith is now head of his own construction company which is now working in Africa. How could all this be possible? There is only one way--by imagination. Nancy Heintz Rose Hagedorn I5
