Gold driftwood and red candles galore were fea- tured in the decorations of Delta Kappa Gamma Re- gional meeting in Jacks- boro October l3. FTA girls, dressed in black skirts, white blouses, and red ties carrying out the FTA col- ors, served the meal. Those serving were Melina Caruthers , Ann Sickles, Zelta Long, Janie Stewart, Lillie Mae Stark, Paula Arm- strong, LaVerne Marley, Pat Conway, Johnnie Creek, Mildred Dixson, Barbara Anderson, and Ann Leath- erwood. Margie Mattox, Carroll Morrow, and Linda Gunter, KABC members, help keep the books in the library ready for use. Members of the club serve the student body not only by keep- ing the books and magazines pro- perly shelved but also by helping locate materials housed in the library. All members are required to learn the classification of books to enable them to serve their fellow classmates. Dora Tilghman, Gayle Donley, and John Waldrop with other students shown in the background, realize that much practice is nec- essary to build accuracy and speed in typing. The business education department has as its ob- iective the teaching of the fundamental principles of business to those students who plan to enter the bus- iness field. Courses are also offered to aid students in other areas of work.

PEP RAlLlLY SCENES O, the day of the pep assembly! The auditorium walls brace themselves and in troop freshmen, sopho- mores, iuniors, and seniors, all obsessed with out-yell- ing each other. Cheerleaders Burlene Wells, Barbara Hatfield, Mildred Dixson, Bennie Johnson, and Pat Perkins lead the yells each Friday morning during football season. Beat Ranger! was the battle cry in J. H. S. the week before the game with Ranger. The splendid spirit and enthusiasm exemplified paid off in a victory of 19-7 over Ranger. Each vibrant with school spirit, the sparkling five yell leaders led J.H.S. in Pep- They worked up new yells and assembly skits. This skit by the cheer- leaders represented the hopes and aspirations of the students and the team to win the game on Fri- day night. ' 'I We my Y -, s,...A

That's Mike Myers' feet and hands you see and Stephen Vaughrfs back. You remember the Ready Rebels and the Atomic Teens, the two political parties in the election for county of- ficials. Miss Light and Mrs. Crawford serve refresh- ments to Mr. White, Class- room Teachers Association president, at the initial CTA meeting in September.
