The Engineering Department is responsible for the operation, mainten- ance and repair of the ship ' s Propulsion and Auxiliary equipment. E-1 Division is comprised of Gas Turbine Mechanical (GSM) and Gas Tur- bine Electrical (GSE) technicians responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ship ' s Main Propulsion equipment. The Enginemen (EN) are responsible for the Auxiliary equipment and ship ' s Diesel Engines and the Machinery Repairman (MR) is responsible for fabricat- ing emergency parts. E-2 Division is manned by Electrician Mates (EM) responsible for the ship ' s electrical power and equipment and the Hull Technicians (HT) are responsible for the ship ' s piping and hull repair.
