1 I ports C Everyone likes to play, yes, everyone. The students are happiest when on the basketball court or playing softball. The teachers, too, play with a great deal of vigor. This year the three main games have been basketball, volley-ball and softball. The boys' basketball games are enjoyed by all. When the students played the alumni, we had a very interesting game. We are glad to report that we beat with a score of 12-7. w Provisions have also been made for indoor playing. A tennis table has been set up in the recreation room where many happy hours have been spent.

' , Music, the art of love Sweetly descends from above Filling the souls of man With that which nothing else can. This verse of poetry is descriptive of the feelings of the music stu- dents at Jabbok. Mrs. Greene, the instructor, has worked faithfully and hard, and has succeeded in organizing a Boys' Quartet, Girls' Chorus, and a Mixed Chorus. These and other groups have made successful appearances on gospel teams in Literary programs, in Church services and on other occasions. This has been a very successful year in the music department at J. B. S. One of the new organizations at Jabbok .is the Gospel Team. With a majority of the students participating, various programs were rendered throughout the year. Some of the places at which services were presented were: Red Star Church, near Leedeyg Parallel Schoolhouse, the Church of the Brethren, and Evangelical United Brethren Church, Thomas, and the NEIZIIFGHG Church, Weatherford, Oklahoma. At these services the gospel was presented by way of ml1SiC-VOCHJ and instrumental-readings, flannelgraph, and SCITYIOHS- ospel i

i' Manual Training A new course in Manual Training was added to our schedule the second semester. It has proven to be quite popular with the boys. Elmer Deck has been instructing them in the proper use of tools and in the carving of wood. After making a cabinet in which to put the new tools purchased for this class, they made corner shelves and bookends. The Homemaking II class, has had an interesting time in the study of our unit in foods. Several projects of this study were the Mother- Daughter Banquet and the faculty luncheon. The first semester we studied clothing construction and child care. During the study of the latter, we gave a party for Miss Book's primary Sunday School class. Although there are only three of us, we, with our teacher, Miss Book, have spent a profitable and enjoyable year together. umamaking
