(f 7 c a o The dedication of the 1957 Warrior is but a small token of the appreciation and gratitude the Senior Class feels and wishes to express to our football team, The Warriors, who in 1957 brought to our school our first North Carolina State Football Championship Trophy. As we think back orf the events of this year, and as others in the future will gaze upon our trophy, this symbol of championship will bring to mind those who gave us so much for our Alma Mater, whose thoughts and deeds were ever directed toward bring¬ ing the highest honor to our school. May it serve as a guiding light to future teams as our National Monuments are symbolic of great accomplishments of the past. Thus, this book we offer as a monument erected in grateful appreciation of their efforts. v V

We, the Annual Staff, are proud to present to you our 1957 Warrior. This book has caught glimpses here and there, so that in years to come the activities of this school year at Barber High will not fade from memory. In later years, while turning these pages, if you should recall the many smiles, sorrows, and dreams of ' 57, we shall be content, knowing that we have done the things we were called upon to do. H m Our J J rmcipaPs JKessape I wish to take this opportunity to pin orchids on the Yearbook Staff and the faculty sponsors of the 1957 edition of the Warrior. Each year the staff members seem to be dedicated to the purpose of eclipsing the successes of their predecessors. This is a type of spirit for which I feel that they need to be commended. New developments in all lines of endeavor constantly place demands upon us to always be striving to im¬ prove our productions. I wish to congratulate you for the manner in which you have accepted and met this challenge. Your colleagues, I know, are justly proud of you and their 1957 publication. At this point, a word is probably in order to the members of the senior class as a whole. Last year ' s class was fondly called a history- making class. The same can be said for you, also. Many of you were included in the number who were the first students to enter the J. T. Barber School in 1951. You were seventh graders then. Just for fun, try to recall that day in September 1951. Added to this distinction, your class began this year as the strongest in the history of our town. As you leave us and travel your selected ways, we , the members of the faculty, sincerely hope that all your accomplishments will be described in superlatives.
