The Commercial Club members are: Shirley Riggs, Mary Rhodes, Dollie White, Charley Spivey, Ellen Pugh, Hattie Taylor, Dorothy Harvey, Fannie Spellman, Lois Melton and Shirley Chapman. Student Council representatives are: Miriam Bell, Shirley Benton, Betty Smith, Wilbur Williams, Jessie Daves, Charlene White, Flora Madison, Ernest Bennett and Marion Batts. Jessie Daves is a majorette. The Arts and Crafts Club members are: Doris Hicks and Queenie Jarmond. The assistant Librarians are: Betty Smith, Audrey Humphrey, Ernestine Wallace, Estella Murphy, Thelma Foye, Doris Lofton, Ellen Pugh, Eugenia Hickman and Gloria Williams. Members of the Annual Staff are: Ernestine Wallace, Barbara Payton, Ellen Pugh, Lillian Robinson, Charlene White, Wilbur Williams, Joyce Copper and Jessie Daves. The F.T.A. members are: Annie Daniels, Dorothy Harvey, Eleanor Banks, Ernest Bennett, James Hatch, Marion Batts and Lucille Fonville. The Newspaper Staff members are: William Dove, Betty Smith, Doris Lofton, Shirley Benton, Miriam Bell, Marion Batts, Eugenia Hickman, Flora Madison, Eleanor Banks, Thelma Foye, Mary Dawson, Laura Armstrong, Gloria Williams, Robert Vails, Lucille Fonville, Ernest Bennett, Matilda Jones, and Edward Mendes. The Crown and Sceptre members are: Jessie Daves, Lois Melton, Barbara Payton, Lillian Robinson and Charlene White. Many new clubs have organized during our senior year and the seniors are well represented in all of them, filling most of the major offices. We, as seniors, are glad to have been the first eighth-graders of J. T. Barber School and are equally as proud to be the first graduates of J. T. Barber High School.
