Except for a few returning players, the team was inexperienced. Scott Ward and Marty Schranz, the top players, made all- conference. On the sophomore level many close games were won mainly because the team worked well under pressure. They were able to hit when needed, and it was a team that would not give up, stated Coach Bob Kozurek. The freshmen baseball team was very strong up the middle, but found trouble in the hitting department. Said Coach Jim Breck, The team did well as freshmen and has great potential. His curve ball sailing to the plate, Ken Bialas tabove, lefty seems fixed in a classic pose with batter, catcher, and umpire. BASEBALL 59
