Students control the press Through the TV, the car radio on the way to school, and periodicals used in school classes, the media permeated students' minds with its coverage of present day society. One of the most enduring forms of media is the newspaper. Here at Morton, students exercised control over the press by joining the Falcon new- spaper staff. The Falcon has enjoyed many years of recognition for its articles. According to Mr. John Stebbins, adviser of the paper, We're working to be the best we can be. We are the best we can be, yet we hope to be even better. ' ,Other student publications in- cluded the Talon yearbook and the Egg, the student literary magazine. These attempts at understanding the media and its influence upon people was perhaps one of the greatest lessons experienced by students at West. Books, magazines, and new- spapers were better understood by students who helped create some communication of their own. FALCON GENERAL STAFF-FRONT ROW: N. Chantha. SECOND ROW: R. Regan, P. Finn.
