, f 1 ll, X I Thespians confront disaster 'Forensics gives students a chance to compete and learn about speaking, stated Jeff Kostel. Members of the forensics team found that there was more to speaking than met the ear. Specializing in humor- ous and dramatic interpretation, interpretation of original material, and radio speaking, they performed alone and in groups. The forensics team competed in district, sectional, and state meets. Lisa Wolf comment- ed, The competition is great exper- ience, and I love public speaking. Thespians, the Theatre Depart- ment's honor society, consisted of a group of exceptionally talented young performers who held leading roles in past productions. One of their most I as 7 N unusual performances was given during MacNeal Memorial Hospital's disaster drill. During the drill, an exercise in emergency procedures, thespians played the roles of seriously injured victims as emergency crews treated them. The members of the Tech Guild, a dedicated group of people, stood behind the scenes at a number of school activities. Their purpose, as stated by Patty Johnson, was to take care of all the technical aspects of theatre and to make sure we have quality in our craft. Besides back- stage work for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Tech Guild provided lighting for assemblies, choral concerts, and other school functions. . NWN ' THESPIANSQFRONT ROW: S. Schnulle, Pres.: S.
