933 Q E! Ulm n Just when the dull routine of books and homework began to drive students up a wall, it happened! Some special moment occurred that made the school year almost bearable. One memorable event was, of course, the J unior-Senior Prom sponsored by the Junior Class. The elegantly decorat- ed Carlisle in Lombard served as the site for the Prom last spring and offered students the chance to experience an evening of elegant social life. Graduation also provided a well-remembered moment in time as graduating seniors reminisced over their high school years, and envious juniors hoped that the coming year would pass as quickly for them. The first day of school was perhaps a most special event for incoming freshmen. Unprepared for the mob scenes in the cafeteria and hallways, the newness and excitement of that first day afforded many frustrating but humorous memories. In-school assemblies brightened the school year by giving both students and teachers a welcome break from classes. Assemblies given by the Music Department at Christ- mas time and by the Jazz Band after the holidays provided musical ap- preciation along with professional entertainment by talented peers. lj Prom's magic touches couples as they sway to the theme song, This 0ne's for You. 2J Homecoming Queen Sue Zurawski beams at her escort Joe Keating during the special coronation ceremony. 31 Providing assistance during the hectic moments before graduation, Ms. Janet Lochridge assists Rose Dangles in locating her place in line. 41 The first day of school finds droves of students awaiting textbooks for their classes. 55 In-school events, such as the performance by the Jazz Band, offer welcome breaks from classes. 12 SPECIAL EVENTS
