nd monitor in study halls 2 Secretaries and nurses perform necessary tasks for school community As part of their regular duties, the nine paraprofessionals patrolled the restrooms, supervised the halls, and monitored the study halls. Decreasing the number of smoking violations, the students used the smoking areas and tried not to abuse their privileges by smoking indoors. Their attitudes toward the paraprofessionals improved considerably. The secretaries in the various offices typed and performed activities necessary to keep school offices running efficiently. Also, the nurses treated a daily average of one hundred students whose complaints varied from the common cold to more serious injuries. The women kept records on all students, filed injury reports, and conducted vision and hearing tests. As part of her job as school nurse, Mrs. E. Vocelka Qfar upper left! treats Peter Bianco's injured hand with the patience and kindness needed in her demanding work.
