Physical Education Staff Makes 'Trade' with East Morton West's Physical Education Depart- ment made an interesting trade this past year. When Mr. R. Vashinko assumed the posi- tion of Morton East's varsity football coach, Mr. J. Breck of East came to the West faculty. Boys' gym classes continued the use of the junior-senior elective system. The freshman and sophomore classes followed the activity schedule used in recent years. Girls also followed the an- nual schedule of activities for freshman year. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors chose from specialized classes in lifesaving, advanced swim- ming, modern dance, and leadership or took regular gym. The department organized adap- tive gym classes for those who were unable to engage in normal gym activities. 48 ACADEMICS
