The Business Department proposed for next year a course entitled consumer education, designed to satisfy this new requirement. Possibly because of the requirement, the business classes' enrollment increased to cause overcrowding. Department head Mr. E. Ludwig stated, Our classes are overcrowded for the type of instruction around which we like to build our courses. The notetaking class switched from a year minor course to a semester major. Mr. Ludwig said, Because of the skills we try to develop in taking notes, it would be better to have the students on a day to day basis rather than every other dayf' The class employed the ABC Shorthand Writing System. Wu it N 'WW Wag Home Economics Classes Undergo Minimal Change This year the Home Economics Depart- ment remained about the same as last year. The department enrolled approximately the same amount of students. The ratio of girls to boys enrolled in the department remained stable as well. All but one of the teachers remained in the faculty. Mrs. N. Bavisotto temporarily left the department on a maternity leave. The depart- ment made its periodic purchase of replacement items such as washers, driers, and sewing machines to ensure maximum performance dur- ing the year. Mr. E. Ludwig, Practical Arts Divi- sion head, reasoned, We made no other changes because we were satisfied with the materials that were used last year. 'EQSNCSER - J' H .M CW ivr- ..,. W' W' , M...
