Berndt's Shooting Wins League's Scoring Crown Varsity basketball made a good showing by ending the season in fourth place with eight wins and six losses. Their main attraction was Bill Berndt, who won the DPVL scoring cham- pionship when he outscored his nearest com- petitor by thirty-three points. Berndt, who lead the team with most points per game, got forty- four in Morton's last home game. He, of course, made the all-conference team. An outstanding junior was Valdis Bole, who won an honorable mention from the all-conference team. The junior varsity had an upsetting year with one win and thirteen losses to end in eighth place.
