Halaska. New Ideas for TALON As West Meets 'East' At their summer workshop in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, four editors exchanged yearbooking ideas with many other schools including Morton East. Other editors met with some eastern techniques in Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. R. C. Hegner, adviser, welcomed new concepts from these workshops in keeping with the times. With the onset of girls' sports in addition to new sports, some sport related clubs were added to enlarge the activities section. The student life section expanded in coverage by its inclusion of students' activities off campus. Student photographers proved to be extremely valuable in capturing pictures of Morton West students in volved in the world around them. At one of the yearbook's several worknights, Nina Halaska tleftj, TALON staff member, pauses to check her accuracy in typing the copy for an editor's approval.

I, ,, J Av Literary Magazine Staff Hatches the New 'Egg' After nine years, Morton's literary magazine was revived. The staff members en- titled the booklet The Egg. It consisted of the finest creative Works submitted by students. In order to extend their usual program, the Latent Image Photo Club took field trips and ex- changed photography shows with neighboring high schools. They also attempted to move photography more into the field of art. Falcon staff won the highest awards from the International Honor Rating for Newspapers of Superior Achievements given by the Quill and Scroll Association. Mr. J.
