CHEERLEADING .. . This year,s varsity and junior var- sity cheerleading squads held a very prominent position among the organizations of Morton. At the cheerleading summer camp the varsity won four first places and one second place during five nights of competition. The squads were also invited to several teas which were given by various schools on behalf of cheerleaders in the area. In March they attended a Worthwhile workshop which was held at Northern Illinois University. Besides participating in these functions, the squads practiced from two to four hours every Week. They also added swimming and wrestling to the list of sports events at which they cheered and were able to purchase new uniforms which they felt were essential to the uniformity and neatness of the squads.
