Easter Trips Feature Tours to New York, France, Switzerland Each year Morton students and teachers employing many means of transportation embark upon a series of in- formative and pleasurable excursions. Whether by train, plane, ship, bus, car, or foot, the travel enthusiasts of our school seek to gain a wider knowledge of the world. This year school-sponsored tours to Washington, D.C., Switzer- land, and Colorado as well as field trips to near-by schools and conventions aided our students and faculty in becoming more aware of the cultures both in the United States and abroad. Also through independent travel, mem- bers of Morton West's faculty and student body gained knowledge to enable them to impart their experiences to the people of their classes during the school year. While touring Mount Vernon on the Easter tour, Karen Hagemann and Charlene and Diane Slezalc pause on the banks of the Potomac River to view part of the estate. A World War I memorial honoring men from Winnipeg, Manitoba, serves as a background for a photograph of social science instructor, Mr. E. O. Palmquist, who enjoyed many such sites in Canada. Spanish instructor, Mrs. M. K. Gamboa, and her daughter, Gina, enjoy the sights in the Plaza of San Martin in Lima, Peru, during their summer vacation spent in South America.

A lovely fountain attracts the attention of Mike Dobrowolski and Kathy Kraus as they pause for a moment on their way to the dancing pavilion at the Junior-Senior Prom. lg -rf Z! Junior and Senior Classes Hold Nostalgic Memories of Prom Acacia Country Club near La Grange was the setting for the most anticipated event of the year for upperclassmen, the Junior-Senior Prom. Ross Anderson's Orchestra provided the music to seranade the couples to the theme of Three Coins in a Fountaini' and helped to create the perfect atmosphere for dancing or just strolling. Of course, our prom would not be complete without rain and cool weather which again this year came the following day. Yet the inclement weather did not hinder the spirits of the stu- dents as they trekked to the various beaches and haunts on the following day. All couples attending the Junior- Senior Prom were pleased with the activities that they will always keep as nostalgic memories. The prom's imaginative, midnight blue bid which featured a charm serving as a momento of this memorable occasion draws the attention of Barbara Lenar and Bill Speer. Two Morton boys guide their dates across the dance floor of the grand ballroom to the mood music of the impressive Ross Anderson Orchestra which was featured once again. l
