-Q r A f-...NNN-W HOME ECONOMICS CLUB Under the direction of Mrs. S. L. Grenveld, the Home Economics Club had a busy year with more than fifty members actively participating. The girls used their homemaking skills for both personal enjoyment and charitable purposes. First semester activities included a September car wash, a Halloween party at an old TOP ROW: D. Slezak, C. Roth, B. Grych, L. Miglinj FRIENDSHIP CLUB Friendship Club, which met twice a month, stressed informal adult communication among its members. At several meetings, guest speakers spoke on various job opportunities. Other regular meetings featured taped music, creative skits, and typical ubusinessw meet- ings. The club sponsored an animal cracker sale in Novem- ber which was followed by an exciting Christmas Party. A splash party and an Easter party were included on the agenda for spring activities. Barton, W. Vurov, R. Gasaway. people's home, a bake sale, and a field trip to the University of Illinois in Champaign. The club's main project of the year took place at Christmas when members sent cards, letters, and packages to servicemen in Viet Nam. To gain the interest of all students planning to enter a career in some phase of medicine, the Future Nurses this past year became the Medical Careers Club. The members invited guest speakers to their regular meetings and also viewed several educational films. For their Christmas project, members of the club made hookmarkers and favors to send to a nursing home. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA The outstanding accomplishment of lVIorton7s Future Teachers this past year was to become affiliated with the national organization, the Future Teachers, Clubs oi America. ln club work members worked on a point system. They earned points by grading papers and aiding teachers in other aspects. Another of the club's main activities was serving as guides for the open house held in November. Under the guidance of lVlr. W. R. Randolph, the members saw movies on horses, races, and riding techniques and gained actual riding experience on planned rides. The clubls activities also included a taffy apple and bake sale in October and, as the highlights of the year, trips to a local horse show and to the International Live Stock Exposition, Horse Show, and Rodeo at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago. The club rounded out its activities with a chocolate Easter bunny sale and a picnic. fifllzzsil, I. Mayes, D. Herold, C. Volpe, M. Tmilov, Mr. J. Kawczyn- s -z. TICKET OFFICE . . . This year seven students spent a good portion of their free time in the Ticket Office. Under the guidance of Mr. F. Peterdil and Mr. J. Kawczynski, these students devoted both fourth and seventh hours to serving the student body. They were responsible for selling tickets for all sports events, dances, drama productions, and other school functions. Chosen on the basis of grade averages and records, the students gained ideas on business budgeting and cooperating with others. 1
