COMMITTEE HEADS Under the guidance of Mr. R. T. Knopik, Committee Heads was made up of the heads of Election, Social, Activity, Assembly, Scholarship, Freshman Orientation, Medal Awards, and Alumni Com- mittees. They were chosen by the Student Council home- room delegates on the basis of their ability and desire to assist in Morton's activities and progress. After being selected by the delegation, the Committee Heads then picked their planning groups from the homeroom delegates. Committee Heads was not a club. It met as a minor dur- ing the school week and more often when there was a large Student Council project to be planned. SENIOR COUNCIL Performing service for our school was the main objective of the oldest extracurricular ac- tivity in this school, Senior Council. The boys selected for Senior Council were chosen at the end of their sophomore year on the basis of their scholastic achievement, activities, and desire to be in the club. This past year the Senior Council served and ushered at many of the banquets and programs at Morton and sponsored the annual father and son banquet in February. Funds raised by the boys were used to give a scholarship to a deserving senior member. TOP ROW: M. Wogronic, J. Zitzer, T. Cappelletti, R. Kadlecek, S. Haalc, A. Louvar, S. Marsik. THIRD ROW: G. A field trip to the Art Institute gave the members a good idea of Spanish art and also the spoken language since a lecture was given in Spanish. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The ideas for the 1967- 1968 activities of the MWSC had their beginning in the Executive Committee. The elected officers of the student council, the four class delegates, and the three faculty ad- visors comprised this governing body of the Student Council. Meeting as a minor and not as a club, the Execu- tive Committee worked out the details and plans for the Student Council undertakings such as dances, pizza parties, and Student Council Week. The suggestions of the Execu- tive Committee were then presented to all the delegates at a meeting for approval, disapproval, or modification. The committee was advised by Mr. R. T. Knopik, Mrs. E. O. Palmquist, and Miss S. J. Thompson.
