Radek, experienced a thoroughly reward- ing year. As in the past, the orchestra was composed of stu- dents from both Morton East and West who rehearsed after school in addition to their classroom work. At this festival Morton students received many of the first chair assignments. Several Morton representatives were then chosen for the state festival in Peoria. From this festival, Janet Riedell and Gail Soumar were selected to tour France this summer with other chosen student musicians from lllinois. AEOLIAN CHOIR Students selected for the Aeolian Choir, the most advanced singing group at Morton, needed at least two years of vocal experience in the other choir groups. The choir studied advanced choral music under the direction of Mr. J. Chiado and presented examples of this music at the winter and spring choral concerts.
