In The Tall, sTudenTs are eligible Tor membership in The TickeT OFHce. IT accepTed, They become permanenT members. Fresh- men candidaTes, who are called NeophyTes, are given odd iobs To do around The oFTice. These include dusTing, sweeping, washing windows, and The regular Task of selling TickeTs. In order To remain on The sTaT:T, a member musT receive a passing grade in every subiecT. IT he Tails one oT his subiecTs, he is puT on a six week probaTion so ThaT he has a chance To bring his grade up. IT he doesn'T, he is auTomaTically dropped from The sTaTT. AT The end of each day, all The money is counTed, checked ouT, and deposiTed in The various accounTs of The Cashier's Office. Mr. F. C. The splendor of The old sTeam engine wiTh iTs black smoke and pounding side rods is Truly greaT. Men and boys have looked up To The engineer driving his massive Train wiTh awe. These I sTudenTs hope The day will never come when children will noT know whaT a sTeam engine was. In The hope oT doing someThing To averT This evenTualiTy, The mem- bers oT The Railroad Club build models of These engines Tor Their own enioymenT and also wiTh The desire oT leaving someThing by which These classic pieces oT machinery may be remembered, A greaT deal oT work goes inTo The consTrucTion of These models, and when They are Tinished, The builders like To see Them run. For This purpose, a special room was secured aT EasT, and an HO gauge IayouT was builT in iT. The consTrucTion of This layouT is cTuiTe cosTly and Takes a good deal oT Time, buT iT is enioyed by all.
