Along vviTh The oTher science clubs aT MorTon, The members display' inTriguing phenomena oT science in The form of a Junior Academy of Science proiecT. The inTeresTing experimenTs in- volving The use oT such TascinaTing equip- menT as The sTrobe lighT and geiger counTer provides The sTudenTs vviTh many inTeresTing hours of learning. Such im- porTanT Tields as aTomic energy and rockeTry are encompassed in The Tield oT physics. The increased imporTance oT These has been seen by The sTudenTs and has caused a surge in The membership oT such organizaTions. This condiTion is an inTeresTing one, Tor iT shovvs ThaT MorTon sTudenTs are able To cope vviTh many problems. 'Th IPAQ oncepfs of Science BIOLOGY CLUB . . . The Biology Club members, as usual, have Taken a greaT many Held Trips To The dunes and The quarries. On such Trips many fossils are Tound which aid The sTudenTs in The un- dersTanding of The sTrucTure of Things which walked The Tace oT The earTh many years ago. There are many places in The Chicago area where The members can End inTeresTing subiecT maTTer for discus- sions in school. Garheld Park Conserva- Tory, Coal CiTy, and The various ToresT preserves in The area are iusT a Tew examples. Because oT The mulTIpliciTy oT These locaTions, The club has adopTed These Trips as one of iTs primary Tunc- Tions. BoTh boTanical and zoological sTud- ies are carried ouT as parT of The club curriculum. The members learn noT only To appreciaTe The apparenT beauTies of fiovvers and insecTs buT also The beauTy oT The organizaTion oT These living Things. The raising oT planTs in The green house aT MorTon EasT is also perTormed by The club.
