Popular rhythms provide entertainment for students attending the 1959 prom, SPRING INTERLUDE. lnseparable from the other facets of school life are the numerous social activities which take place throughout the year. In addition to the Homecoming festivities, Christmas dance, and spring prom, which In one of the romantic scenes from this year's Senior play, Roy Votava proposes to Linda Spolar. highlight the year, are many other social functions: sock hops, play nights, swim shows, assemblies, school plays, and din- ners such as the Mother-Daughter Banquet. These offer students a needed change of pace from the everyday routine by provid- ing entertainment, relaxation, and an op- portunity for social development. Crowding onto the dance floor, Mortonites swing with the rhythm of the music during the Play Night festivities which were spon- sored by the Senior cabinet.
