Man in his common state is by far the most inquisitive creature on earth. He is also the only one who possesses the faculties necessary to satisfy this inherent curiosity. Driven by his desire for knowledge, he has accumulated through the centuries a vast store of information which has both benefited and hindered his development. Nevertheless man has continued to seek the novel, question the established, analyze the character and speculate about the causes and effects of observed phenomena. After conquering each quest, he has searched for a yet further, more exciting horizon. Thus man has extended his modes of communica- tion by expressing himself through art and music. He has discovered fascinating realms which challenge his abilities with the aid of telescopes, microscopes, and other devices that he has developed. One of his maior preoccupations has been the study of his own advancement. Today man is eager to explore the far reaching mysteries of outer space: and, when he has solved these, he will seek a newfrontier because man, relentless in his search, is ever ON THE TRACK OF KNOWLEDGE. 1 ff ,---.,,. , 5 t if 4 J, w gg,-V xl :.
