f From early in the morning through the late afternoon, much hustle and bustle can be found in the classrooms and halls of Morton. This activity is not only confined to books and learning, for there are various recreational programs and athletic events held in the evening or during the week-end. Similarly, the cowboys and ranch hands out West have their days filled with hard work, but once the sun sets and coolness comes, it is time for relaxation around a cheerful campfire. Z 'ig

The primary function of the Board of Education is to give the students who attend the various schools under its direction the very best education that the funds entrusted to it by law and by the people of the district can procure. This responsible task includes the selection of our superintendent. They must also pass upon recommendations made by the superintendent for the hiring and dismissal of teachingand non-teaching personnel. They budget all money and must pass on recommendations for salary increases and approve all purchases made with tax money. Although this group of seven men is little known by the individual student, they are the ones who guide the daily instructional facilities for those who attend our complex educational system. They approve purchases of all of our equipment and also pass upon the use of our school facilities by outside organi- zations. All of us thank these men for devoting their time and efforts to us.
