Uh! llchinq Back! SADDLE CLUB . . . Are you saddle sore? Where's a step ladder? I wish I had a cushion! There is nothing quite like a fast gallop over a smooth trail. To a person who has never ridden a horse, it might seem strange that with bicycles, automobiles, etc., people are still riding horsesg but once they try riding, they will be sold, This club promotes the riding bug among the students and offers aid to those who wish to become proficient in the art. Rides are held every Friday at Parkway stables. The advisor is Mr. I.. C. E. Prucha. BIT AND BRIDLE . . . Some dirty dog put glue on my saddle! Nice horsiel 'AI say, ole top, where are the 'English' saddles? This galloping group rides on Saturday mornings at Greentree Stables, where the members are instructed to ride and use English riding equipment properly. In addition to regular rides, there are hayrides, barn dances, and club get-togethers. Some of the more advanced boys are taking special instructions in the game of polo. These Hhappy horsemen are advised by Miss E. G. Endriz. 28

The Tnnque is Sharper Than the Sword FENCING CLUB . . . 'Tve been stabbed! That is the cry you may hear if you are in the neighborhood of Room 204, eighth hour. Last year the Fencing Club was just another club, but this year it has become a recognized sport with full P. E. credit given. lt is now for boys only and meets everyday. Fencing helps these boys to develop the body in coordination with the mind. Fencing is a good all around body builder, and it gives as much development as is af- forded by the regular gym class. Many boys have seen the benefits of this sport, and the class is now becoming popular and crowded. The instructor is Mr. P. R, Pavlinek. DEBATE CLUB . . . Let me point out! Statistics show--.H Now, now, debate: don't argue! lf you are one of those Hsharpiesw who knows all the answers and even some of the questions and likes to discuss and give a clear exegesis, the Debate Club is just what you need. With your love for controversy and a good scholastic record you may become a member. You will be aided in your development of logical thinking and clear speaking. The debate team has verbal battles with other schools as well as discussions among themselves. The advisor is Mr. W. Cherry. '29
