The 1976-77 Whittier gymnastics team started practive in November with the project of continuing their show¬ ing in the Fairfax County intermediate gymnastics meet at Mount Vernon High, March 16. Each year the team consistently scores high at this meet. With an even mixture of seventh and eighth graders, team strength should continue through this and next year. High hopes go with the return of advanced gymnasts Johnna Richards, Roxana Ipince, Karen Efird, David Amo¬ roso, John Miller and Dallas Gravette. Mr. Clements, the gymnastics coach, credits the success with the growing interest, schoolwide, in this relatively new and difficult sport. 43
