Deco members Linda Sadler and Laura Taylor appear to be working hard. The Distributive Education Club CDECAD was organized tor the tirst time this year here at J.l:. Webb l'ligh School. There are twenty members ot our local club, which is also attiliated with the state and national organizations. DECA is the program at youth activity relating to Distributive Education and is designed to develop tuture leaders tor marketing and distribution. DECA is the only national youth organization operating through the public schools to attract young people to these fields. The main purposes of the DECA Club are ill to develop a respect tor education in marketing and distribution which will contribute to vocational competence, and CQD to promote understanding and appreciation tor the responsibilities ot citizenship in our tree, competetive enterprise system. The purpose at their meetings is to enrich the learning ot a foreign language through a greater knowledge ot the customs and civilizations at France. ln process this year is a student council charter tor the club. The Spring banquet is enthusiastically looked forward to tor enjoyment by French l and ll clubs. The club is led this year by Alma Watkins. Caroline Mitchell and Bruce Frazier serve as Vice- Fresidents, while Bonnie -Timberlake and Fleming Hayes serve as Secretary-Treasurers. Students enjoy the French cuisine inside La Cage. 39
