SENIOR CLASS PLAY The comedy, You Can't Take It With You, presented November l9 and 20, was a smash hit. Alice, a working girl of about 20, finds dif- ficulty when she falls in love with Anthony Kirby, Jr., vice-president of the company and son of the boss. She doesn't think the families could ever get along. The Sycamores, Alice's family, are easy going, happy people. Not one of them has a steady job or pays any income tax. Grandfather collects snakes and attends commencements. Penny, Alice's mother, writes plays and paints. Father makes fireworks in the basement. Essie, Alice's sister, ballet dances to the accompani- ment of Ed on the zylophone and makes candy. Ed, Essie's husband, also sells the candy and has a hobby of printing. On the other hand, the Kirbys, Tony's family, are sophisticated Wall Street people. The happy ending brings the lovers to- gether, and the families start getting along better. Much color is added by Rheba and Donald, two colored servants, Boris Kalenkov, the dancing instructor, Gay Wellington, a drunken actress, and Mr. DePinna, an ice man who just stayed for eight years. Two of the high spots of the play were when the Kirbys came unexpectedly and when the J-Men arrested the whole house full of people. CAST Penelope Sycamore ,...,.. . ......
