SIIEBIINIHIIGDIIR CLASS IIIDIIIQAW The senior class play, Once There Was a Princess , a romantic comedy in prologue, three acts, and epilogue, was presented the evenings of November 8 and 9, 1945. The play was presented in the fall of 1945 because of the crowded schedule in the spring of 1946. Following the prologue which took place in the Palace Dellatorre at Rome, Italy, the scene changed to the Boyd living room in America, the time being a few weeks later. The Boyd household was the scene of much preliminary activity, preparing for the arrival of the Princess. The Princess arrived during the first act but was not recognized by members of the household because of her modest dress. Knowing she would shatter all their dreams, she found herself unable to reveal her identity. She realized that they had counted on a big celebration upon her arrival. About a week later, however, the anticipated celebration took place when the Princess, fulfilling all their dreams, again came with much pomp. T. H. S. young, green, and frightened in 1942, and were Encouraged through the first difficult days by Miss Madden and Mr. Reiser. Soon with the leadership of Betty Dahlen, Jim Gernant, and Elizabeth Hanna we Entertained the student body with their first Booster Club Party by presenting The Seasons of the year. On went time, and we entered our sophomore year. Urged on by Jack Biederman, Doris Jones, and Ruth Calhoun, we Housed the interest of the student body by presenting the Heartbreaking and brain racking Truth and Consequences. Entering our junior year set before us the task of Arranging the prom to entertain the seniors. Relentless in our tiresome responsibilities, The class was led by Jim Gernant, Virginia Vandemore, and Miriam B Since the war was still in progress, the juniors United their efforts on a Tour of Army Camps which was Presented to the Booster Club. But still there loomed On the near horizon the Junior-Senior Prom. Nimble minds went into conference, and The juniors Went into a bond of secrecy. From the gym could be Heard the sounds of hammers and busy voices, but still no one Enlightened the mystified seniors who Groped frantically for any available information but getting Only the knowing looks of the jolly juniors. And when the doors of the gym were opened, Low and behold there stood a quaint park! Now the secret was released. America Sings was presented as Only the Junior Revelers could. Longingly the juniors Took in their first wonderful prom. Our last year was entered with the glorious thought of No war, and a normal life was ours. The rings arrived, and we seniors gloriously flashed them Here and there for all admiring Eyes. Our officers, Gerald Brown, Phyllis Kay, and Sylvia Smith, Produced excellent results with our final year. They Reproduced the history of the class for their final Booster Club Party. Inscribed name cards were exchanged, and we Zealously wrote our John Henry's on each other's annuals. Educated and weary but so sadly, we bid adieu to G. T. H. S. 8 LIITOII
