Literary Editor Photography Editor . . . Business Editor Tb QoJow Who am I? Well, I might be called the OBSERVER. I can be found anywhere and everywhere in J.E.B. Stuart. I see all, hear all, know all. What do I see? Students milling around in the midst of a traffic jam, freshmen dashing to get to calls and knocking down dignified juniors and seniors, the alter¬ nating frowns and grins of coaches as they watch the last play of a game, and the precision of the marching band. What do I hear? Laughter and chatter during lunch hour, teachers talking a mile-a- minute to seemingly deaf ears, voices of the choir filling the auditorium, cheerleaders and fans screaming their lungs out, and the click-click-click of typewriters. What do I know? The excitement of the first day of school, the panic erupting when semester exams loom only a week away, the frustration of the newspaper and year¬ book staffs in trying to meet the deadline, term paper-itis, the confusion and furor of the halls, the hushed atmosphere of after school hours which is interrupted by an occasional flurry of activity, the fun of the Junior-Senior Prom and the signifi¬ cance and thrill of graduation. 4 Ob$Gw ncj QbuuCinJb Uv tits duUwvStitiyS - QoM tiMbOnicu d , SOM tnJUfloJl; SOM S uOuS, SOM g u; SOM . . . m fJ . U DQjiiCtiib 1962 t flA t , TttfwiCt D. Todd The purpose of the 1962 SABRE is to present J.E.B. Stuart in all its aspects and phases; to present its acheivements in scholarship athletics, drama, and music, to show the ac¬ tive participation of students in serving the school and com¬ munity, to portray the school spirit, and to present the tra¬ ditions which will become the starting point for future de¬ velopments and experiences. May I extend my best wishes for success and happiness in a turbulent world. Do your best. Stand for that which is right. Make the world a better place for having been a part of it. May I express sincere appreciation for the fine way you have rallied to overcome a difficult situation during the current session. You have helped us maintain a fine school in spite of the obstacles. Finally, may I remind you that the hope of the world is in your hands, the hands of American youth. I think it is in good hands, hands which will throttle the tyranny which is hammering at the foundation of our tree, fiod-given society. Most Sincerely, W. Leon Mason THOMAS D.
