Members participate in many worthwhile activities during the year including fund raising projects, community service projects, and school service projects, as well as social activities. They also take part in various leadership activities throughout the year. Officers and members participate in the fall, District, State, and National Conferences as well as hold executive and regular membership meetings throughout the year. Each idea is expressed by thoughts leading to the hands, and creating art, expression, talent, originality, images, dreams, awareness, and emotions. AFIROTC, Located at the Career Enrichment Park, is an academic course listed in the catalog as Aerospace Education. This program trains more than one hundred students each year in management, leadership, and aerospace subjects. Many graduates of this course go out to military academies and colleges and go on to active duty as officers in the nation's armed forces. Others enlist in the active forces with advanced ratings and pay or use skills learned in AFIROTC in their civilian occupations. The course includes attractive field trips, an orientation flight at Buckley Air National Guard Base, and an opportunity to earn both national and local military awards. Five Air Force Academy nominations may be made by the unit each year. Three nominations may be made to West Point and three may be made to the Naval Academy each year that the unit is in an Honor status as it is at present.

The year was started off with the production of the ever-popular show M A 'S H , which turned out to be a great success. With Christmas came the heart-warming production of Christmas Windows . The traveling show was directed by Drama Club president Dan Conca. The club's winter presentation of The Miracle Worker also proved a great challenge to the actors, as well as being successful. The final production of 1981 was the Advanced Theatre production. Advanced Theatre is a senior class that, in addition to regular class work, does an entire full-length play at the end of the year. ln addition to the four major productions, Drama Club members participated in many other activities throughout the year. In addition to these concerts, they also attend local area contests. The band, made up of members from the other two band groups, plays all styles of popular music. During the Fall of 1980, the Ranum Raider Marching Band performed at all of the home football games, as well as in local area parades. ln the Spring of 1981, they traveled to Canon City to perform at the Music and Blossom festival held there. In addition, they marched in other parades, such as the Ranum Homecoming Parade, Parade of Lights in Denver, Holiday Parade in Englewood, and St. Patrick's Day Parade in Denver.
