Each day We added new bits of intelligence, each class mastered added new bricks to our tower, constantly growing to the final spire- graduation. The foundation was laid in grade school and in high school the construction began in earnest. As Freshmen we looked up to the Seniors who were mounted on the highest ped- estal. Now that we are Seniors, now that we h ave completed our Tower of Learning, we are ready to build the Tower of Life, 3 .S RNBAQ if C SQ, ' xr X E5 We the Senior Class of 1953 dedicate our Ithacansian to our beloved parents in sincere appreciation for their timeless efforts and un- derstanding. To you who offered the family car and paid our bills, overlooked our faults and render- ed a helping hand, we pay tribute. We cannot fully show our appreciation for your Worries, your advice, and mostly your con- cern for us. I This dedication to you, our wonderful par- ents, is just a small way of saying Thanks for everything. Ithaca high school is very proud of their Marching and Concert Band and of Mr, Roy Ketola their very able director. Our marching hand has per- formed many times during the halves of the football games. The Fall Festival, The Christmas and Memorial Day Parades have also been led by the marching band. Our high stepping drum major is Don Parling and the prancing majorettes are Harriet Berman, Roberta Arnold, Winnie Haley and Barbara Lewis. The Concert band presented a combined Christmas program this year with the glee ClllbS. They participated in the District festival at Mt. Pleasant, March 21, playing River J ordan Ero- ica , and Parade March No. 2 . n They took a second rating. .Ai Mr' Kewl' Lender Don Parling 3 0 I Q! 2 N K. Q I .
