All-State This year lthaca High School was well represented by many of its talented music students at the fall festi- val of the New York State School Music Association, commonly known as All-State. Priscilla Beeson, Bruce Shapley, Stewart Wallace, and Kathleen Walls were honored by being chosen for the statewide music conference held at Albany in De- cember. Ten orchestra delegates to the All-State sectionals went to Canandaigua on November 18 and 19. They gave their concert at the Canandaigua High School un- der the direction of Irving Cheyette. Twenty-nine sectional band and choral delegates went to Whitesboro, New York, on December 9 and 10. The All-State band was directed by Elwin Freeman, while Clement Barton led the All-State chorus. Ralph Dayton was baritone soloist in a chorus number, HCod ls the Light of the Worldfi Pat Mahool sang an inci- dental solo in HCranberry Corners, U.S.A.7' E251 Stewart Wallace, Priscilla Beeson, Bruce Shapley, and Kay Walls look over their schedule for the All-State Conference.

Junior Choir The Junior Choir, consisting of members of the Junior Choral Club and the Junior Glee Club, made its first appearance at the l. H. S. Christmas Concert on December l7. The Choir sang 'KA Joyous Carolv and '4Sing Noel. Mimi Heiniclce and Kathleen lllencsik were the incidental soloists in L'Stars Lead Us Ever On. Foster Cornelius was Master of Ceremonies and entertainment was provided by talented Choir members at a banquet held on February 7. ln the Spring Concert on April 27, Hlesus Walked This Lonesome Valleyw was the leading number of the Choir. ulfmitte Spiritumf' uliollytoodumf' and 'iln Joseplfs Lovely Gardena, were among the other selec- tions.
