Concert Band Activities of this year's Concert Band con- sisted of practice and more practice, resulting in fine performances for the public. Membership in the band, as well as placement in sections, was on a competitive basis, and periodic try-outs and challenges were held throughout the year. Under the guidance of Mr. Battisti, the band spent much time reading different types of music and preparing for concerts. During the year the band played for a Board of Education meeting at Boynton Junior High and for a double school assembly. Band members traveled to Owego Free Academy to present an assembly concert in early May and concluded the year with the annual spring concert on May l8 at Foster Hall.
