A large varieTy oT social aTTairs sponsored This year included The Congress Ball, SporTs Club Dance, Congress-FaculTy baslceTball game, and Commercial Club Dance, as well as many, many cheerio , Tudge, and candy-covered apple sales. The ArT Club This year sold hand- Trimmed and leTTered calendars supplemenTing Their regular sales. A cerTain percenTage oT all The money earned is Turned over To General Council To use Tor anyThing which is necessary or desirable Tor The school. Through General Council, The high school is a paTron oT New York STaTe Sunday aT The Valley Forge Memorial Chapel. Don Marks and Phyl STevenson exchanged yearbook ideas wiTh sTaTT members Trom all over New York STaTe, and incidenTally had a grand Time wiTh represenTaTives Trom oTher schools. Early in The year lisTs oT senior acTivi- Ties were collecTed. Senior picTures were all Tinally Taken aTTer much mad scurry- ing by Don and his Two assisTanTs, Phil Gibson and Dick Fricke. Mr. Tompkins was seen aT school almosT every nighT Tor abouT Three weeks caTching clubs in candid poses. All This Time The arT sTaTT had been working on layouTs and drawings Tor The book. Bob AbboTT, Jack Gourlay, Rose Vasse, and David Snyder did The job oT mounTing all picTures Tor The engravers. They can Tell you whaT Tun ThaT was. OT course, ClayTon Crandall had been busily obTaining adverTisemenTs, and as a resulT oT his work The Annual Board became a member oT The Chamber oi Commerce. ClayTon boughT a new collar so he could aTTend The meeTings and banqueTs wiTh The ouTsTanding business men oT This ciTyl Deadline daTes Tor The prinTer drew nearer and nearer, and Phyl, Mary STuTz. Kay Lyon, BeTh Smiley, and Bob Ladd checked on senior lisTs, club wriTe-ups. dedicaTion, and oTher maTerial, while Jack Young Took care oT The sporTs wriTe- ups. Doing some oT The mosT imporTanT work, buT also The leasT recognized were Helen Szabo, secreTary and head TypisT, and her assisTanTs, Barbara DavenporT, Lulu Emerson, BeTTy Ellen Soper, and Jane Bool.
