The poet takes the floor, To have his say in a Well-rhymed lay On the class of Thirty-four. Not in the World around us, Nor inthe days of yore, You'll all agree, We ever did see, The like of Thirty-four. Of all the studious seekers For musty learned lore, None with such toil burnt the midnight oil As the grinds of Thirty-four. Of all the liads Who bravely Our I to victory bore, None fought so bold for the Red and Gold As the men of Thirty-flour. Of all the charming las-ses, That grace these halls no more, None bobbed their hair, yet looked so fair, As the girls of Thirty-four. The hour has come for parting, Life beckons at the door, Shall We be glad, shall We be sad, Dear class of Thirty-four? We know not what the future May hold for us in store, But here's goodbye to Ithaca High, With a oheer for Thirty-four.
