Flashy Fashions Sparkling in more than one way . . . Fashions of ' 85- ' 86 provided just the right spark for classes, that special date, the big game, cruisin or fun on the Tenn-Tom. From the everyday look of denim to dressy, Itawamba Junior College students shone. With dress as different as each individual, accessories added to the total look . . . Straw purses — the bigger the better — held needed items. Stone- washed jeans in stripes, checks, or blue and black alternating patterns on front and back were trendsetters. Great-looking sweaters in every color of the rainbow and oversized shirts made their mark with big, bold designs. Wide gold chains sparkled in the sun. No matter what the fashion . . . IJC . . . you looked mahh-velous. The Modeling Squad stars in fashion shows throughout the year. Debbi Coggins ' gold chains shine in the sunlight. Denim provides the basic wardrobe for IJC students, Cindy Towery and Justin West. Fashion conscious, Missy White and Ken Todd spend free time bet- ween classes. Relaxation is great after long hours in class if you ' re dressed for the occasion. Opening 11

A Brighter Future Dreams and goals become a part of a bright future. Whether plans include a career or fur- ther education, tomorrow ' s dreams begin to- day . . . Climb high, climb far, your goal the sky, your aim the star. Ideals are like the stars. We never reach them, but like the mariners on the sea, we chart our course by them. The ' 80 ' s are packed with excitement ... a glowing new age of technology ... of lasers, robots and computers ... an electronic era where super machines re- quire their programmers to be highly skilled individuals. More sophisticated business and industry seek out the most quality personnel in a highly competitive market. It ' s an age where the real world is more than just a dream. It ' s making sure all the pieces of the puzzle fit to make a total picture — in- dividuals shining with pride in where they were and how far they ' ve come . . . No star is ever lost we once have seen. We always may be what we might have been. Perhaps poet Joe Darion says it best . . . To dream the impossible dream. To reach the unreachable star . . .
